First, some mood music:
And we interrupt this regularly scheduled program to let y’all know that:
Yay, so happy to announce that Chego will be celebrating Halloween w/ Chinatown with a little dim sum crawl. Expect frozen beers, craft ales, special Halloween dishes and that spooky, urban magic that only Chinatown can give you come this October 31st. Tickets can be snapped up HERE.
As we venture closer to October 31st, we edge closer to making our dentists rich off filling our cavities and dollar stores fat from our last minute grabs for makeshift costumes. Speaking of which, these, strangely, are not costumes decorating the beaches in China:
They’re called FACEKINIS. That’s right, they’re not-so-racy bikinis for your face, meant to preserve the pearly paleness of your vampiric skin — but they also double as an unattractive option for girls who want to opt out of wearing a face full of makeup to work.
But in the name of attractiveness and imagination, congratulations to Brittany Adler and Vincent Campos for participating in what’s becoming an annual thing — a Twitter contest grab for last minute tickets to the Lacma Muse Costume Ball.
And much love to everybody else who participated. Wanna see the highlight reel?
Also, mini shout out to @PennamitePLR, for constructing this pretty impressive Kogi costume. It really blows me away. I think this is the first I’ve seen that actually incorporated our sticker culture on the truck.
For those who missed out on the contest but don’t want to miss out on the ball, you can still grab tickets HERE. Many thanks to LACMA for those swanky tickets.
ALSO, if any of you all are craving for some sugary goodness but tired of the infestation of pumpkin-spice and pumpkin-pie-themed goodies infesting your local Trader Joe’s and Ralphses, DO come by for a Halloween-friendly Sriracha Bar and Chocolate tres leches. Chocolate and spice and everything nice — and nary a trace of pumpkin in sight.
Love and tacos,
P.S. Am I the only one excited about THIS reunion?
P.P.S. Wow, we’re so honored to be nominated, y’all, for TimeOut’s Reader’s Choice. (Seriously, TimeOutLA is giving LAWeekly a run for its money this year in terms of tastemaking…!)
