The Ooey Gooey Card, Kogi Hot Wings and Homemade Ranch, thank you OC Weekly, BREEDER’S CUP ticket giveaway — and pregunta: WHAT’S BIG AND GAY AND HAS RAINBOWS ALL OVER?

Sorry to disappoint, but it’s not canned unicorn meat — although it contains an excellent source of sparkles and magic in every bite.  (Weirdly enough, it can also be purchased at geek.com.)  Nay/neigh, my friends — it’s actually our friends at the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, who are hanging out w/ us Angelenos for a few days this week.

CUE some mood music:

And YAY.  They shall be rainbowing a coupla our truck stops this week — namely our Sherman Oaks stop tonight 6-8:30pm and our lunch stop tomorrow/Wednesday 11:30am-2:30pm at Yahoo! Santa Monica.  So feel free to totally stop by and say hiiiiiiiiiiiii.

Possible things to look out for on the menu: vanilla and dark chocolate soft serve swirled into Salty Pimps, Bea Arthurs and Cococone cones. These fancy schmancy sundaes may or may not be topped off with olive oil and fig, Maker’s Mark bourbon butterscotch and more…

UPDATE: Big Gay Ice Cream Truck is going FULL MENU at both stops, w/ 3 paletas especial para Los Angeles: roasted peach, mango-chili & strawberry-jalapeño.

IN OTHER NEWS: WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS…of many things.

First things FIRST:

After 8 games our rittle friends, the Kogi Sliders are in 1st place, working our way up from 4th early in the season.  Hopefully these kids can keep their talented heads in the game, as there are only 2 moh matches until the City Cup Tournament.  If these little buggers keep this up, we won’t be too surprised that these soccer fiends shall make it to the Cal South State Cup.

But in the meantime, KOGI SLIDERS — HWAITING! (buh, that’s Korean for “fighting”, which can be translated into American English as an expression of support, hoping to elicit the fighting spirit in you.)

And y’all know where else we’re winning?

Correction: we’ve already won.  And not in the lofty, consoling kind of let’s-build-team-spirit kinda way, but in the OC-WEEKLY-READERS-ACTUALLY-VOTED-US-INTO-VICTORY kind of way.

I KNOW.  2 WEEKS IN A ROW.  That’s a lot of love there, OC.  And our appreciation speech is as follows:

As y’all can tell, myself and Photoshop Elements have been getting along famously as of late.  ^___^  But wait — THERE’S MORE!

WHAT??? WHAT’S COMING???, you ask?

Well, we just super wanted to thank y’all for all your years of support and love for our humble little rice bowl establishment.  And as a token of our appreciation, we wanted to combine the two most beloved things at Chego —  rice bowls + ooey gooey fries — and put them on a punch card of happiness.

10 Ooey Gooey Fries = 1 free rice bowl of your choice. So it’s a card full of win all around.  ^__^  You’re welcome.  We love you.  Isn’t it obvs?  Punch cards start this Thursday at Chego.  Just need to order up a post-consumer-recycled-paper plate of melty, ooey gooey-ness and you’ll be halfway there.  (Though, technically, you’d be 1/10th of the way there.)

BUT WAIT — THERE’S STILL MORE!

Ahahaha.  I warned you that I’ve been having too much fun with Photoshop this week.  ANYHOO, we’ve been gifted 24 grand stadium tickets — yeah, those are the Fancy Feast seats of the Breeder’s Cup — and are planning on giving them out next week at 12 lucky truck stops.  The Kogi connection?  We’ve been asked to participate in Taste of LA with 9 other vendors at the Breeder’s Cup the first weekend of November in Santa Anita.  I’m expecting horses, big hats and the LA equivalent of a mint julep.  AND SO CAN YOU!

Just stay tuned for next week’s blog posts with details on how to win.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST — LET US CELEBRATE THE LATEST ADDITION TO THE KOGI ALIBI MENU

for now, only at the Alibi Room in Culver City

Words from Chulo Choi: 3 oversized wings fried crispy dry like salt and pepper shrimp style with a spicy Korean chili sauce and homemade ranch dressing on the side.

It’s crispy, juicy and  sauced-out.  In other words, y’all are gonna be licking your fingers for hours.  Request napkins.

I know, this probably read as more newsletter than blog post, but there is a LOT happening on the Kogi and Chego side of the spectrum this week.

Love and tacos,
Aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice
