CHEGO: THE NEW MENU HATH LANDED

First, some mood music…

And, let us now pay our respects to yesterday’s Chego menu…

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. I know. $12 Salad, 3PM Meatballs, you shall be missed!

For me it’s like letting go of some beloved pets and having the family immediately adopt some new puppies.

And, out of loyalty, you kinda want to throw a fit, indignant that your parents are trying to fill an irreplaceable void with these new furry creatures with their squidgey little paws and hopeful little tail waggles and their heartbreakingly enthusiastic fortitude…

And as much as you try to reject these happy friends, these innocently optimistic pups whose only want and wish in the world is for you to be their buddies, resistance is failing and proving to be futile. After all, they don’t know about ole Spot or Thelonious who’ve just been put to rest. It’s not their fault that the Original Guards had to be let go. It’s not their fault that the 5 Flavor Kimchi Sampler has gone into the night, or that the Grilled Romaine Hearts are grilled no more.

STILL, I EMPATHIZE.

That said, I DO want to let you know that all of our classic bowls remain on the menu.

Even the Buttered Kimchi Chow?, you ask.

Well, to clarify, the Buttered Kimchi Chow went on a bit of a cleanse and came back lighter, brighter and, dare I say, happier? There’s certainly a lot more spring in her step than heft in her bite. I mean, let’s be honest here. The Buttered Kimchi Chow of yore was a husky girl. And after an honest look in the mirror, she decided to make a few significant changes in her life and is totally in love with her new vibe.

Anyway, I super hope y’all will enjoy its newest incarnation because I certainly did. (I kinda like it even better than the original.)

As for the vegans and vegetarians who are upset about us taking the old salads off the menu, WE REPLACED THEM WITH NEW ONES. With two more vegetarian-friendly options that even the omnivores will be hankering for. They really are that good — from roasted savory pudding cups to mushroom-filled mandu rolls. So don’t ever accuse Chef Chulo Choi of not having a soft spot for the herbivores.

We’ll be taking pictures tonight, so hopefully I’ll have some pretty images and video to share with y’all in the next post!

    As long as you kept the Steak in the Heart and Chubby Pork Belly, I can handle any changes. Having just discovered the former, I would have killed you (not really) for getting rid of it (no, really).

    In all seriousness, though, love the changes!
