WHERE TO PARK IT: the La Puente edition
February 24th, 2010I WAS gonna write about something a littLe more inneresting today, but as it stands, my parking spot posts are much more popuLar than my Alice-tryna-write-something-inneresting posts. –__–;;
So, as you may have guessed, La Puente, we are roLLing to YOUR neck of the woods!! YYYYEEEEEAAAAHHH!!!!
You know, peopLe bag on the vaLLey a lot, but there is a lot more to La Puente than meets the eye.
Like… THE DONUT HOLE!!!

…where it reaLLy is about the quaLity. I’ve never personaLLy been there, but according to reviews from insiderpages.com, it’s “the uLtimate drive-thru experience” where “the prices are reasonabLe.”
…aLso it’s predominantLy residentiaL and HOUSES OVER 42,000 RESIDENTS!!! HELL YEAHHH!!!

If you don’t know what excitement is, kids, you have yet to hit up La Puente. Ahahaha. ActuaLLy, La Puente is a lot more exciting than LaPuente.org wouLd lead you to beLieve. (Take a littLe PRIDE in your CITY, LA PUENTE.ORG!!! WHERE ARE THE COLORED PICTURES AND NON SEQUITER REFERENCES TO TONY BALTAZAR AND EDWIN ‘FIST’ ZUNIGA???)
ActuaLLy, I’d recommend checking out their wikipedia over their home page. I don’t know who Edwin ‘Fist’ Zuniga is, but I sure do want to meet him. ApparentLy he is a LeveL 1 Enforcer with the LA Derby DoLLs AND a BacheLor of Mathematics.
I wish I had a cooL middLe name like ‘FIST’ and was a bacheLor of mathematics. ALso, wouLdn’t be awesome to be known as ‘The Enforcer’ of… weLL, anything?
ANYWHO, kids, that’s enough about what’s getting me pumped up about La Puente. Let me get to the point: if you’re from La Puente and you know it’s the sh*t, heLp us out, yeah, in heLping us find a pLace to park?
THE RULES ARE THE SAME AS EVER:
* Must be 200 feet away from a restaurant during operationaL hours
* Must be 500 feet away from the schooL during schooL hours
IT’D SURE BE NICE IF…
* You couLd provide cross streets — or, better yet, an address!
* It was easy for peopLe to find parking.
* Y’aLL couLd pLay it cooL once we get there. No huge littering or ruckus or giving cops reason to kick us out. (It’s happened!) We’LL bring a trash can to heLp make keep everything nice and orderLy.
THANKS, LA PUENTE!!! We reaLLy are stoked about spending a littLe extra on gas to come out to see you. ^__^ Y’aLL have been super nice and sassy on my Twitter feed. Juss how I lahk it. Come hongries!
Love and tacos,
Aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

Hi Alice,
Y’all should park at my home church, Cornerstone International Christian Church. It’s on 1130 N. California Ave in LP. it has a good size parking lot and is on the corner of California Ave and Fairgrove. It’s been in LP for 18+ years and has been serving the community since it was established.
Thanks,
Bryan

Not sure if it’s legal for you guys to park there… but the Foothill transit Industry Park and Ride is a good spot. Its a lot with about 200 parking spaces. It’s usually clears out around 6pm. It’s not on a main street, so causing traffic wouldn’t be a problem. On the foothill transit website, it says its located on Hacienda Ave and Stafford St, but I would say it’s closer to Stafford St. and Glendora Ave. There is no address listed.
Here’s a link to a map of the location.

I am with the first post in that Downtown LP would be great. Only problem is that it doesn’t draw all that much traffic and is a bit hidden. How about in front of Ed butts Ford on Hacienda?

I can help you meet Edwin “Fist” Zuniga! Come to an L.A. Derby Dolls game. http://www.derbydolls.com/la. We’ve got a game 3/6 and another 3/27, and I believe he’ll be at both.

Depending on what time of the night it is the Superior lot on Valley and Hacienda as suggested above could be cool. If the market is still open then I think it’s a heinous idea bc it’s already virtually impossible to navigate around in there. If it’s after store hours then it would be cool, plus you will get all the business from Spearmint Rhino, hopefully before people go in there and spend all their money =)
Superior market, I think the address is 151 S. Hacienda Blvd, city of Industry

PERFECT SPOT: Next to the old Star Theatre at 145 N. 1st St…It’s a closed theater, nice parking lot next to it-always empty. It parallels Glendora and can be accessed there so…perfect!
AND CLOSE TO ME..gimme kogi!

ya’ll have some useless replies. Kogi wants comments about a spot where
1. Easy access for all
2. Great for people to see while they are driving down the street
3. Ample parking
4. MOST IMPORTANT – NOT GET HAGGLED BY COPS

February 26th, 2010
how about the old leo hoffman chevrolet facility at 15432 East Nelson Avenue/Hacienda Blvd.
no restaurants nearby, plenty of traffic, be nice to the sherifa’s (station down the street) and they’ll eat and leave quietly.

I would say the HK2 plaza near the w. covina DMV..
1) major corss street
2) The plaza is half empty and they really need the foot traffice.
3) I believe if you talk to the secreity guard they would be ok with you parking inside the plaza..
4) if you need to let me know i can ask the plaza manager if it is ok…
5) they have one in Rowland heights and w covina
