Pasadena has been very strict on their policies on catering trucks. I believe Eagle Rock or Downtown LA is the closest locations for Pasadena.

eyes2small - I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. But there are some locations that are heavier than others. The trend seems to be that the further south or east the truck travels, the more people line up. The west side locations usually don't have a line longer than 30-40 minutes. Last time at SMC, by the 2nd hour, there was no line at all. We also have a permanent kitchen in Culver City at the Alibi Room that does not move, hence you don't have to worry about Kogi leaving. As long as your order comes in before midnight, you will be fed.

Please take in mind, for a small family business it takes an incredible amount of work to get these trucks out there to feed as many people as we can. We could easily sell out and sell partial ownership to some big corporate entity, but we feel the spirit of Kogi would be lost. We're a handful of guys at best trying our hardest to feed entire armies. Just imagine your family and friends getting together and trying to feed 6 locations like Costa Mesa in one day. That's what we do for our fans every day. We're not machines and neither is anyone on our staff. We're simply people with passion for what we do.

Chef Roy and company,

Just wanted to say that I dig the food and hope to head back soon for more. Glad that the trucks are doing well. Much love and respect.

On another note, can anyone provide any updates on the Kogi t-shirt design contest? I know it's been only like two weeks since the deadline, but I wanted to know what's going on and such. :-)

First, I have to thank you for traveling all the way to southbay so that us southies don't have to stalk you all over the westside. I can imagine that it's not the best route on a friday evening.

So on Friday I arrive to the Toyota location at 5:45p. The line was pretty short, I would say about 50 deep. The truck arrived at 6:15p, just 15 minutes late - no worries. But the guy doesn't start selling tacos until 7:30ish... is this normal? Can't the food be prepared in advance instead of making people wait for an hour or so before serving the first customer?

We recieved our tacos at 8:35p. I asked for 8 tacos and before i could get to the burrito the guy says "no more", $11 limit. So I said my wife is with the kid because the kid is 2 years old and going nuts about standing in line for 2 hours. So he lets me order one more item... so I sacrificed the burrito for the quesadilla which my sone loved.

So we waited for 2.5 hours and were not able to even order what we wanted. There was also probably another 25 or so behind me that probably did not get served.

You might either provide more trucks or cancel this location since I am sure there are lots of complaining people like me. In fact, I would drive to the westside if i knew the wait would be this long. Otherwise, the food was great.

Chef Roy, I've had Kogi three times at the Alibi this past week. I'm a big fan of spicy pork and am sad to report that the meat was always charred and mostly inedible. Also, the taco tortillas are a bit hard. Do you guys fry them? The food at the bar is unlike what you guys serve at the trucks...
